Praising GOD---Beware Graffic Pictures

Chase's hand 2 days after surgery.

1st time the doctor unwrapped his arm.

Doctor cut slits into his arm to drain all of the fluid from the burn

Good Big-Sister, my parents were out in the waiting room because Chase was in too much pain for them. So I held his hand, crying, about to pass out the whole time :'(

STORY

1 year ago today (July 26, 2008) my 21-year-old brother got 2nd and 3rd burns on his right hand and arm. Here's the story: Chase and my mom went deep sea fishing, and he went over to a friend's house to cook the fish on the grill. Chase was placing the fish on the grill when his friend, Chad, lit the grill on fire. Chase, my lil brother, froze out of fear and didn't let go of the fish right away. The grill had some type of accerlant on it and burst into flames. Chase's hand was burned all the way up to his elbow. He also had some burns on his feet, eye brows, and lips. My brother was in complete shock when Chad's mom got to there house (he tried to convince Chad's mom he didn't need to go to the hospital). My mom met Chase at the hospital, and the doctors were going to transport him to M.D. Anderson's burn unit. Mean while I got a phone from my dad who was racing to the hospital, and I hopped into my car headed to Houston. The doctors came back to tell my mom that M.D. Anderson's burn unit was full so they were discharging him from the hospital...WHAT??? My parents were so confused, upset, scared, and distraught to think so we all went home. We decided to go to The Woodlands Hospital and the ER doctor looked at his hand (he immediately walked out to call a plastic surgeon). The plastic surgeon came over from The Woodlands Medical District, and he called his colleague who is a plastic surgeon and hand-specialist (PRAISE THE LORD)! My brother had surgery @ 8 A.M. the next morning, but none of us slept that night. My mom had to give hime double the amount of pain medicine to get him to fall asleep. Chase went through months of recovery and physical therapy. Thank you God for sending my family great doctors, and giving Chase an almost full range of motion back in his right-hand!!!!
