Life On The Road

As you can imagine, I have my office officially set up in Montgomery and I still live in Bryan. That makes traveling to the office about an hour both ways. Luckily I don't have to go to the office every day, but I do have day habilitation places to visit in Jewett and Waco. My weeks are becoming a little more structured and planned (mostly because I'm an organizational freak). I still feel very overwhelmed with the amount of work I have to do, but I'm handling it the best way. Right now I'm enjoying lunch at McAlister's and about to head to the office in Montgomery. YAY!!!

PS I'm getting slightly better at the whole blogging world thing!!

SNOW in AGGIELAND

My new car had to stay in the snow, and this is what I woke up to SNOW!!! It's always exciting to see snow outside your window. The one thing I was super excited about is that my car has a button that you push when driving in the snow. In October, the salesman said I would probably not use the button unless I took a road trip to CO...Little did he know I would get to use it in February!!!!!!!!

This what my street looked like from my front door...it was too cold to walk outside and play. I'm not a little kid anymore, and the snow is too cold unless I'm skiing.

It's official...Master

My diploma came in the mail last week, and it's official. Too bad I gave it away to get framed.

It feels awesome to have all this hard work pay off :)

Life in a Month

I really am terrible at blogging, and I should give it up. Or maybe be more diligent about taking some time and typing. One month ago:

  • I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master's Degree in Counseling.
  • Celebrated Christmas with the family, and my parents told us that they were reconciling.
  • Realized I no longer have Christmas breaks because of graduation and working full-time...LAME!!
  • Celebrated New Year's Eve in Houston with Allison, Lisa, and Tara. We went to dinner and concert of Reckless Kelly at the House of Blues. It was a great time to re-connect and celebrate with the ladies.
  • Went back to work and worked like a mad woman the past two weeks at work.
  • Gave my two weeks notice at MHMR, and accepted a position with Ruth Marie's Country Home.
  • I have a new title, Director of Quality Assurance. I am still unsure of what they title means.
  • I run errands like grocery shopping (and those of you who know me, you know I HATE GROCERY SHOPPING), handle consumers here in CS, hang out with clients at the ER on Friday nights, schedule appointments to meet with service coordinators (my old position at MHMR), and I will be the go to lady for my consumers in College Station. I am excited for my new job.
  • BUT....This job has been extremely slow, and I have a lot of down time. I HATE HAVING NOTHING TO DO (which is why I am blogging). I pray that down time will be minimal in these next couple of weeks because I don't do well with free time.
  • DO I LIKE MY NEW JOB?? Answer: I have NOT really done anything for my new job; therefore, I have no idea if I will like my new job or not. I pray that I do.
  • AM I MOVING?? Answer: No idea. The mention of moving has been tossed around, and I would be very excited to move (those of you who know me, know I may never actually leave College Station).
  • I am waiting on my LPC-Intern license to be approved so that I can begin counseling and finishing my 3,000 hours I have to complete before I can be fully Licensed Professional Counselor.
